i have a 1957 7 ton Austin Loadstar flat deck truck that is in running order, except for its petrol pump, which needs repaired. it has spent its life in southland in the south island of New Zealand. it worked as a fertiliser spreader on a farm then shifted to Central Otago to retire in my paddock. its a beauty! only done 35000 miles from new and has no rust. it needs a home. it is a great restoration project ready to happen. i don't know how to find the right person for the job... does anybody want to buy it? |

Hi Greg
Do you have any specialist classic truck magazines in NZ? you could also try listing it on the NZ auction website Trademe, might be worth a go??
cheers

Hi Greg
Loadstars do appear in preserved circles in the UK (most often in the form of the militarised K9), but whether it'd be financially worthwhile to get it shipped from NZ to the UK is debatable. A nice K9 can be bought for £1000-£2000.
I'd be inclined to try locally rather than overseas, the shipping costs count against it unfortunately.
If you'd like to send me some photos and a writeup, I can feature it on the main website, and mention that it is for sale.
cheers

If I hear of anyone I'll let you know, I do email a few people in NZ with regard to 50s Austin cars, so they may have a few leads if you're interested?? I'll let you know if any info comes along
