As mentioned in another post, I went to the Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset, so here's some pictures:
This looks familiar
Prototype Mini with, I think, coil spring front suspension and torsion bar rear suspension.
SD1 Estate
Standards
Made me feel right at home
Trabant
GAZ Chaika
This was an interesting car. It had a Rolls Royce V12 aero engine!
Not exactly to my taste, but you can appreciate the work that has gone into this.
One for Buzzy.
A few shots from the Retro Rides event that was going on at the same time.
This truck was lovely, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Maybe a Dodge?

Great photo's, thanks for sharing.
The diner was at last years Street Rod Nationals at Trinity Park, Suffolk and if it floats your boat, is amazing. _________________ 1953 Humber Hawk

Looks like a great cross-section of cars there, although many of then do appear to be rather stuffed in side by side with no access to look inside or around them which is a pity, I find the interior of cars equally interesting. |

That 1936 Delahaye is beautiful. I really like that diner - looks like it could be the one Rick mentioned a while ago |

Yes, that Route 66 diner truck looks great. The Morris 1000 engine compartment looks almost ghostly. Interesting collection.
Thanks for posting,

Hey Rich, Great photos!
I visited the Haynes museum when I was last in the UK in 2005. I thought it was fantastic, especially the "red" room. It certainly left the Montague museum rip-off near Southampton for dead! Is the Austin Seven still at the entrance? I was told it was Haynes first car.

Thanks Keith,
There were two Austin Sevens at the entrance, a special and a box saloon. I think Haynes' first car was the special. No pictures unfortunately.

That was a slightly disappointing aspect of it. I think there were only two halls out of about 5 where you could actually walk around the cars. There was the one with the A35, Morris Cowley and Morris Eight in it, and the hall with the Minis in it. I did have a good look around the museum's A35 and noticed it had the headlight switch in the 'dipped' position
In the museum guide it says efforts are made to exercise every car in the museum at least once a year.
It was a good day out though _________________ Richard Hughes |

According to the ASKMID insurance database, the diner is a Diamond T404, not a make I have heard of before. I think it dates to around 1937 _________________ Richard Hughes |
