Hello all, I have recently acquired a 1932 BSA chassis that requires cleaning off and repainting. I have been quoted three hundred pounds to shotblast and paint it with two pack.
I am inclined to just get it shotblasted and paint it myself. That way I can control the quality better. What paint do you think I should use.
regards Kels. |

I used Chassis Black from Frost. I thought it would be rock hard, but had a petrol leak for 1 night and the area which got petrol on it all wrinkled up! |

Chassis paint does not set hard - it is chlorinated rubber paint really so will dissolve in petrol ultimately _________________ Rover P2

I painted my Morris chassis in 2 pack, but had it mixed to a silk rather than hi glosss, so it is both tough and looks the part, the only disadvantage is that it will be more lightly to chip, so I will probably coat it in a waxoyl typ coating.

Forgot to add, you really need to get it blasted and painted right away, rust starts in hours! the firm I used held my chassis until there was a dry Friday, blasted it thast day, I picked it up in the evening primed it and put the top coat on on the Saturday. The same firm also does powder coating which I would have concidered , but it was too big for their oven! |
