1902? The car looks a bit twenties-ish to me.
Oops! just looked closer at mag and it says Founded 1902. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

Given that it is a painting it could be a number of cars. But it could be a Talbot 14/45 of the late 20's. The battery box under the passenger floor is the same place as my girlfriends. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

I went on to The Motor Magazine through Google.
On the first page is one of the first magazine covers.Underneath it asks you to look at the gallery. This opens a world of wonderment as you can scroll left to right through many of those old magazine covers.I recognised one or two of the cars but I bet there will be the vintage car enthusiasts who will be calling out all the names.

Nic are you saying your girlfriend has a battery box under her floor!
I know we love our cars Nic but I think you might be taking it a bit far if you think a Talbot 14/45 is your girlfriend You need to get out more and meet more normal people my friend (Sorry Nic forgive me I'm only joking) |

Pat | I e mailed the editor of this Motor Magazine to discover that it is an American magazine.Unfortunately they do not have repros. of the old covers.

I spotted this misinterpretation as well but was too polite to mention it! Seriously though it shows the importance of punctuation....You know
"Eats, shoots, and leaves"...a baddie leaving a restaurant after killing someone ..
or "Eats shoots, and leaves"....the panda leaving after his lunch.
Thanks to everyone for all the replies..I am having to be very careful and not bore my friends with motoring talk.Heaven knows what I will be like when I get my Bullnose.Pat[/quote] |

Pat.
The Motor is certainly not an American magazine. The price should have been the giveaway(4 old pence) It, along with Autocar were part of the Haymarket magazine empire until The Motor's demise about 20 years ago (maybe even longer). The Motor and Autocar were deadly rivals and merged in the 80s. They had a dual banner for a while before Motor was dropped and it became just Autocar again which is still on the go.
