Springers are noted for their intelligence..and you obviously trained them well.

This is such a good idea.
1: No damage to upholstery.
2: Dogs just love fresh air.
3: With a little modification at the rear there would be no need to stop for "bathroom breaks"
4: Fit adjustable straps and add 4 holes in the bottom will provide the dog with all the exercise it needs.

So kids under three can't go in a car without seat belts, (this makes a lot of sense).
but how does this fit in with the current laws regarding child booster seats for all children under a certain age and height?
I know that the point of the seat is to bring the child up to a height where the seat belts goes across them properly, however, if there aren't seat belts then does the booster seat law still apply?
and if it does surely it's a bit more dangerous than having no booster seat at all. |

I have just downloaded this from a site that hires out vintage cars for weddings
) Can you carry children in the back?
The new law that came into force on 18th September 2006, specifically states that children under three years old must be carried in a baby seat properly secured with a seat belt. As vintage cars do not have seat belts fitted it would be illegal to carry a child under three years old and the driver would be legally responsible. However, children over the age of three are permitted to travel in the rear without child seats or boosters where no seat belts are fitted.

My labradors travel with me safely in my landrover at the back which has a dog guard preventing them hurling themselves over me if I stop suddenly.
Hoping to get a four seater bullnose Morris in the future and want to be prepared to make sure they are safe.
Hope you can help...Pat |

Two things spring to mind.
First, there are some seriously wealthy farmers around this area, I know of one, with a top of the range Mercedes, he goes to the market, and buys a calf, outside he continues to put it in the back of his new car, leather seats and all. All he says "they paid for it, they can sit on it!"
Second, at the recent Malpas rally, there was a parrot sitting on the windscreen of a open top car, when we were in the arena with the engines, we were all asked to blow the wistles, upone doing so, the parrot, upped sticks and flew off! Not sure what happened to it, hope he came back! Really it should have been restrained, asking for trouble! hehe
Cheers
