good morning,
I am putting together a book examining the complete history of each and every one of the 240 alluminium XK120's.
Of the 58 RHD cars built none really were sold to private english buyers. In all at least 75% of the 240 cars built have survived
I am chasing photos (both old and new), stories etc or contact with past owners of these wonderful cars.
Any leads or contacts most welcome
regards terry

I am surprised there has been no response re my previous post but work is still progressing well on this book.
Below are details of our latest Jaguar book being published shortly.
Coming Soon
The long awaited for, second edition of the book "the Jaguar XK in
Australia" is in fact 1/3 of a 3 volume trilogly.
This just on 500 page, large size format 335 x 247mm full colour book covers
the histories of some almost 1000 XK120's in Africa, Asia, Australia/NZ and
South America.
It contains almost 1,100 photos of which only 25 appear in the original volume.

Terry, as you well know this is a rarified and specialised subject here. I assume you have talked to Guy Broad about the subject since apart from yourself he is likely to be one of the few people who could help you. I've seen them, I've watched them auctioned, I've known a couple years back but they are now at a price way beyond most of us mortals. Well, apart from chassis #4 if I am correct - your friend who came over to Silverstone. What a wonderful car done to his own taste!
His car is to his own style and an absolute peach! |

we were there!
neville lives just down the road here in western australia and we travel in this car regularly to jaguar club meetings and in fact neville and I were out for the day in my XK120dhc.
Amazingly a lot of people have relatives friends etc etc that have some connections to old jaguars so we live in hope
I know Guy well
thanks for this

Terry,
I did in fact reply to you by PM regarding a friend of mine's alloy XK120. The car in question reputedly won the 1948 Lahore GP. If you are confident that your book does in fact have details of all the alloy XK120s in the Southern Hemisphere then you will already be aware of the car.

I seem to remember that CKL were rebuilding an early alloy car last year too. Might be worth talking to Chris Keith-Lucas about it.
ETA It was several years back actually. Here's the photo:-
