News of this old pair arrived before Christmas. One is a 1944 Austin, the other a 1950 Seagrave from the USA. They're due for the chop if no home is found for them by Easter, each is for sale for their scrap value (offers over £600 ea).

I'm a little (hmm ok, quite a lot) tempted by the Seagrave, if only to save it. It was originally owned by the Detroit Fire Service, and was later used by the RAF in Belize.

I was told that it has a V16 engine, although I can only find references online to a V12 fire truck of that year.

Anyway, here they are, if anyone is seriously tempted, and has the facilities to move and store one or both of these heavyweights, please pm me and I'll pass on details.

1944 Austin K6 ex-Pyrene Airfield Fire Tender, 6 X 4 drive

1950 Seagrave:

This is how is should look I think, I don't know if all the ladders and gizmos are with it. The screens are out because of operating with the RAF in a hot climate apparently.

Funny you have posted this, I have been talking to a chap who just sold an old Dennis, for £800 and that was restored! Shocked

Anyway I may well be ringing a chap this afternoon who restores/maintains acollection of appliances.

Rick you store it for me, and I will buy one!

Cheers

Dave

Smile I think one oversize vehicle here is enough. Both the fire apps need to be undercover really (££)
