Would anyone please be able to offer some advice on alternative suppliers of Front Wheel Bearings, (inner & outer), for a 1956 Ford Popular 103e as the usual suppliers all want around £100 for the four items!!
I've tried cross referencing the ford part numbers before but didn't get very far Smile
If anyone has managed to find an alternative, the advice would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Greg.

What do you call "usual suppliers"?

I have never had any trouble obtaining bearings from any vehicle from my local ball and roller bearing supplier. I was even surprised to obtain a tube bearing for the waterpump off a 1.5 BMC diesel engine from mine. Even if he cannot find a cross reference a few minutes with the aid of a "very near" caliper produces results.

In the end, very few vehicle manufacturers had bearings specially made for a vehicle, but designed parts around already existing and listed bearings. Forget Ford Agents and motor vehicle Factors. Look under "bearing Suppliers" in Yellow pages and try them.
