Hi folks

Wonder if you can help clear some confusion. I've just purchased a delightful Westminster, but the excellent handbook suggests that all grease points should be filled with 140W oil, whereas other have said that actual grease should be used. As I already have a 2CV, I have a grease gun loaded with grease but what should I be using on the Westy?

I am not sure about Westminsters, but most BMC cars of the time used grease in the nipples. My A35's certainly do.

A lot of cars did use grease but equally quite a few MUST use thick oil like SAE140 as the passages are too narrow for grease to flow through properly

So check with other Westminster owners

The Talbot does not like grease being used so I mix some EP90 with grease and that seems to work OK. The Morris likes it too. With the thinner lube the chassis etc should be looked at every 500 miles.
