Love it

Can you imagine the designers working on it? Let's go for a ridiculous front grille with as many different chrome parts as we can stick on. Fins on the back - not enough, let's put them on the roof as well!

I admire any manufacturer who comes up with something different, doesn't have to a car I like so long as it tries to buck the current trends.

Does anyone else think the dash is a copy of the Volvo Amazon?

Hiya Brian, saw a very nice example of the same model Ute, for sale at a local swap meet this past weekend, rust free, straight and solid. They are a neat looking car when they are in good order, unlike that stinker on Epay Very Happy . These are a mid fifties dress up of an early fifties body, and the dash might pre-date the Volvo a bit, then again, I have no idea what an Amazon is.... so maybe not? These Chrysler's were very popular and also very expensive at the time, still ran the Flathead 6 cyl but were available with a Plymouth 313 V8 as well. Getting a little thin on the ground , but now they are among the cheaper of the available 50's cars, odd, hey?, regards, Col.

Sorry guys - I find it way too fussy for my taste & I hate the colour.

Of course this is coming from a man who drives a car that many will see as looking just as fussy - I suppose it all comes down to personal preference. At the end of the day that's why we have so many different styles on our roads. Very Happy

hehe yeah thats why I put the Wayfarer Ute link here - its so OTT you either luv it, or hate it!! I don't normally do chintzy stuff, but this thing is so weird (especially to UK eyes) that I think its fab

talking of Amazons and Chrysler, wasn't the young designer of the Amazon inspired by an early 50s Chrysler of some type??

Rick

PS the Amazon I had, twice.. Rolling Eyes
