The concensus is that someone got a tip-off and dumped the stuff in the brook. I decided not to get involved. Walking through north Manchester on my way to hand it in as found property could have consequences.
I have kept an eye on the brook ever since, looking for trout tailwalking and doing treble backward somersaults.

BMC Farina (1622 cc engine)







The back axle was present a few months before but I reckon it was snaffled for scrap metal. I think the car was stolen in the 1960's/1970's, driven down a footpath, crashed down a bank and left to rot...as you can see, not much has survived Shocked
