Yesterday we popped over to Llangollen, the river was in full flow

In the evening we took a steam ride up to Carrog, then on the return trip we stopped at a station for a firework display. The weather, surprisingly, remained dry for the display and a fine evening was had Smile

Any more steam railway fans on here?

RJ

I look in on the Nene Valley Railway now and again. To my surprise it appeared in the Bond film "Octopussy" pretending to be an east/west border crossing in Germany. ("Octopussy" was recently shown on TV.)

Mega steam fan, seeing 44422 reminded me of when I once fired a 4F (4027) at the Midland railway centre when I was a member many years ago. Still get up to the North Norfolk Railway when they do there Vintage car weekends so best of both worlds really.

Been a steam fa since childhood
Used to sit on the Primrose hill bridge and watch the steam locos comeing and going.

And still an enthusiast for any steam, not just trains.

As to Llangollen.
That is a lot of water was a bit calmer last time I was there, moored up in the marina.

You know that I am! Very Happy
I've been running the 4-8-8-4, "Big Boy", and a few others on the ho layout.
Just bought the granddaughter the complete "Chuggington" series for Christmas. Also added to her "Thomas" collection.

We also have a scenic steam railroad about 90 miles from us.

Great photos all!

You can include me, as well!

Although my interest is very broad ranging it is mainly heritage based, including steam.
I suppose you could say, if it is old, runs on rails / floats (or did!), powered by steam, (plus ICE especially on two wheels,) and the buildings /structures (bridges/tunnels) are included.
Old technology as well - eg funiculars

Then I'm interested.......

I said That there are a lot of things.....

I'm a steam fan too. Also, admit to being a trainspotter in the late 50's, 60's and early 70's, but with much reduced interest after the demise of BR steam.
More interested in narrow gauge these days, used to volunteer on the Ravenglass & Eskdale, but the increasing traffic and M6 snarl ups, just became too much bother. Settled now on a 18" set up in Derbyshire, no steam unfortunately, but much enjoyment had from some battery electrics and a couple of diesels. See www.steeplegrange.co.uk

Count me in as a steam fan, myself and a group of like minded folk are trying to reopen part of the Malton & Driffield Railway. in the very early stages at the moment.
