Hello from Canada in 2007! I've read the recent postings with interest and here are some comments for what they are worth:
-re: early E83W photo- I believe wartime E83W's did not have grille trim. This was no doubt to save important strategic materials (stainless steel) for war use.
-re: E83W gearing; all E83W's sold here from 48-53 were fitted with 16" wheels. It would be interesting to see how much more speed could be gained with 18" rims.
-re: FSOC E83W Registry: Glenn Bubb is no longer the Registrar so Yvonne Preceiux (Pre-War Registry) has stepped in temporarily.
-re: exhaust mounting- there should be a rubber bush between the muffler bracket and frame mount.
-re: brake expander tappets- the slots with the roller disks sit horizontally.

Hi Les, nice to hear from you again, have you bought any more lately?

I was only saying to a friend the other day that I'd not been offered any E83Ws for a while, then in the last week I've heard of 3!!!!

One was a utilecon or estate car in Switzerland, very solid and original looking, just needing windows, but that was sold I hear within a few days. Then someone else got in touch about a van in the UK, but I've heard no more on that one, and finally today I received a note about some more old Fords, including a pickup!! they must be coming out of the woodwork!!

Hi

Rick if you ever hear of these for sale, if you aren't thinking of purchasing would you forward the details on as it may be worth me asking them to see if they have any parts available?

Be great if you could!

Cheers

Dave

I'll certainly ask the question! spares are always worth saving for these old vans and pickups
