Hi folks

In amongst a load of stuff I have aquired out of a barn and workshop is a rather splendid 1984 Mercedes 200T - the famed W123 estate. It was laid up when its second owner had a stroke and subsequently passed away and although it was fully maintained and MOTed when it was parked up it hasnt turned a wheel in a number of years. That said I put a battery on it and it started and ran like a sewing machine with tip top oil pressure!

It needs a bit of work but I have two brand new Merc front wings (bolt on) and a very good tailgate which deals with nearly all the rust that there is (it is sound as a pound underneath!)

The interior is fab, and as far as I can see unmarked, and stuff like the vacuum central locking works just as it should.

Other jobs needed would be a new bit of pipe from the fuel pump to the carb (its a bit perished) and either clutch slave cylinder or at least a new set of rubbers in the existing one.

I have all the paperwork including a Merc repair manual, the Haynes equivalent, the V5 (it is sorned) and even a microfiche reader and all the slides for the W123 series (the chap who owned it was fastidiuos to say the least!)

It has, as I say, had two owners, the latter owner having owned the car since 1986 and it has done about 135,000 miles.

In all it is a real time-warp machine that could easily be reinstated and could well form the basis for a concours example of the car that Classics Monthly described as a "superb family classic"

I am asking for offers around £1000 and as I am in the vehicle restoration business (www.rustytrucks.com) I would be happy to do any work that a buyer wanted/needed by separate negotiation. I might even consider a swap or deal (I already have a Merc estate........)

Finally there are some pics at

which I will add to once I have got the car out of the barn, over to my place and cleaned up a bit!
