For those forgetful types who haven't put this date in their diary, it's the Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham in 3 weeks time. See here for details;
http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/
For those who haven't been before, I would advise on getting there early doors, as it will take you the full day to get around properly.
Any other OCCFers going?

I'll be there as usual on the Riley RM Club stand. Probably meet up with Rotary Brian; we usually do. |

Right you are Bri. The regulation four days for me unfortunately. Anyone care to sponsor my bar bill? |

I'll be there, probably on the Friday for a good look round. This will be my 4th year so I certainly feel it's a great show. Not sure if it will be linked with the Top Gear show this time. To a degree I prefer it when it's not because it tends to mean people are there for the classica rather than some of them being "spill over" from the Top Gear Show mooching round with no idea what they are looking at! |

Went yesterday, very enjoyable day. The club stands as always were excellent some in particular made a great effort. However two complaints, one I make every year, the lighting in some of the halls is terrible particularly in the Trade Village, almost like looking at the stuff under yellow street lights! And... there seem to be more and more traders flogging hippy clothing, junk and jewelry. I looked at some of the stands and thought they must have either been sold the space under false pretences or turned up at the wrong show. All in all though a good day. |

Just got back to my B&B after a day at the NEC; very busy and very, very crowded but had a great day in the Club's stand - come and see us in Hall 8, we have three Riley Elfs (one each Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3) celebrating their 50th birthday.
I agree about the lighting, it's awful! |

Spotted your Elves looking very smart.
Car of the show? - for me it was either the Ferrari 250GT Lusso on the Ferrari Owners Club stand, which I would have happily swapped a kidney for, or to satisfy my demands for the odd-ball, the lovely wooden bodied Healey Shooting Brake
Any other nominations? |

You pay for carpet and extras but my friends on the AMOC stand said the whole stand cost the club about £800. If this is the case I guess there's little leverage clubs have over the organisers but honestly, in the trade village - Hall 5 was dreadful. |

I don't book our Club's stand but I believe you're right, the space is free but extras e.g carpet, electricity etc. are all chargeable. We've already booked for next year - hopefully we'll invest in carpet (easy on the feet if you're standing for hours on end!) |
