My son has been contemplating selling his 1980(ish) Thomson Mini Glen for some time. The time has come to do so.
He gas done much restoration on it including replacing much structural woodwork.
It is a two berth with end kitchen and toilet compartment.
Very attractive, it has a Carver Heater, refridgerator and full cooker and electric hook-up. Plus a full length awning. 2 gas bottles and leisure battery included.
Photographs are posted below, but I have not got totally "with it" in adding pictures. There are four, but it is necessary to click on the second to bring the last two up.

I hope someone may help.

Lovely little vans; I was very fond of mine.
If it's as good as it looks - sort the skylight out, then £750? |

Thanks for that Uncle Alec.
I don't think he was expecting that much, though he intends to wait for the Spring when demand and prices rise.
Like old cars, the price ultimately is what someone will pay and what he is prepared to accept, but he does not wish to unwittingly give it away!

In which case advertise it on here for £500 to good home- bit of a bargain in my eyes, good chunk of cash nevertheless, and at that price no comeback if anything wants doing.
I was amazed when I bought a Mini-Glen as a stopgap between Cheltenhams to find what a charming, useable little van it was. More storage than our larger vans, 1½ litre RM pulled it a treat, warm, comfortable, character .... I think I'm talking myself into making an offer!
No, steady on, I now remember a party at Wykeham when we fitted 10 people ito it. Maybe I'll stick with the Royale.... |

I found old advertising blurb for the Mini Glen. The picture showed it being towed by a Mini. Maybe it was legally within limits, But I cannot imagine the performance was very sparkling and I imagine it would be embarassing in modern traffic!

Lovely looking little van.
I have a Fisher Holivan which I tow with a classic Mini - like the Mini Glen, these were built in the 60s and 70s to be towed by the Mini.
Admittedly, performance isn't the same as a modern car but I get so many people waving at me and smiling, I'm quite happy to live in the slow lane!
Hope your Mini Glen finds a loving home. |

| It looks great. I have been looking for a little van like this for a while now, and would be very interested if your son does decide to sell. Could you post again if it goes up for sale, or send me a message? Many thanks. |

I was on my way back from a show last summer towing the Stirling behind my Morris MRA breakdown lorry, doing a very respectable 27-30 MPH along the A607 Melton Mowbray to Leicester road when I was passed by a Miniglen being pulled by a Hillman Imp, (plus several dozen other vehicles) it did look a smart outfit as it went passed and not out of proportion. _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |

Hi zoggle500,
Twolitre's Son here,, It was suggested that it was worth £750 on here. Is this realistic ? I have a new skylight that is being fitted so it will be ready to use. There are many new things inside, as well as all the usual. Oven, Heater, Fridge, Thermostat control for heater, Electric hook up fitted. All new lighting. twin hob. Brakes recently overhauled, 2 Gas bottles, 110amp Battery And External socket for use with an outside mains light,. 4 internal mains sockets 1 12volt cigar lighter socket, Battery condition gauge for van battery and car, 12volt powered booster box fitted for t.v. Aerial, Toilet compartment with sink and working footpump tap. And comes with an awning in very good condition.
There is a Thompson web site which has photo's of the van. They insist the van is a quite rare model.
Viewing welcome.
Over to you Regards Pete. _________________ Quote from my late Dad:- You only need a woman and a car and you have all the problems you

Good luck with that. It will be a useful yardstick to see what vans like this are going for.
I can personally recommend just how useable these Mini-Glens are, having used one for two years. |
