Popped over to the Dordogne (Perigord) region of France last week.
In the next village on a deserted farm and yard I saw the red car under a lean too building.
The other car a Citroen was in a building nearby, another building housed a Farina styled Peugeot.
There looks to be an abundance of spares near the Citroen.
I am returning at the end of the month,I will try some investigation work and track down the owner.
The Simca Aronde Plein Ciel would look great on a British rally field. These were built by Facel.
A chap in the same village had a 1951 Panhard aluminium bodied car..so stylish. Just requiring a paint finish..but he would not sell it.

Now that's what I call a 'find' - the Simca looks fabulous, fingers crossed for you. Cool

Nice find, quite amazing what you can turn up in rural France.

I've sent you a PM.

The Euro Classic to Monte Carlo rally last year took us through some rural villages that had been abandoned..we were told that due to a lack of local work..no shops and younger people wanting to live in towns the villagers shut the buildings and walked away.
I thought it would be great to buy one of these places and use it as a holiday home but there are plans within the French Goverment to make it illegal to buy property (outside of holiday villages etc) unless you have a French passport..

Not sure about that.
We have a property in the Dordogne,in fact I was there two weeks ago when I took these photo`s.

This is one of the favourite locations for people retiring after living in Paris etc.

There are properties all over the country, just like here in the UK,for sale,no restrictions as far as I know.
In fact it was us British that took part in fuelling the price rise in France over the last 15 years or so...gone are the days of the £5,000 bolt hole.

And yes there are cheaper properties in France that look like bargains, but in areas similar to ours, where nobody wants to live or holiday.
