I display at "park 'em up" shows several times per year, one of which includes a leisurely road run. Once or twice per year I go on simple evening navigational runs too (nothing strenuous). The '34 Minor also gets used a lot for local trips - school and shop runs, evening VSCC meets etc.

What does everyone else here do with the pride n joy(s)?

RJ

Use it as a family car mostly. Caravanning, holidays, shopping, there's always an RM Club event to attend as well, which usually take the form of motor touring in scenic areas.

Mine are a bit more modern than the majority of cars on this forum. I like to attend club events with my green mini mostly but do occasionally go for runs on my own or with friends in their classics as well, rarely I use it for shopping or to pick up my wife from work etc!!

The blue mini I use it mostly once a week for work, just to drive something different from the daily hack and even for some shows and shopping too (when doing little shopping, not much space to put stuff)!!

The hunter is rarely used due to the problem with the crank shims, which hopefully should be remedied to by the end of this year!!
However I have used it once for a show and on other occasions for a run and some shopping duties too!!

Mine's mainly used for static car shows, I always intend to do a bit more with it during the summer and by the time I get my finger out, it's this time of year and almost time to SORN it.

Same here static car shows around 14 a year. The estate is handy for going to the dump, even moving furniture. When the back seat is folded down there is tons of room. I use it occasionally instead of the suzuki. I never sorn it. I like to keep it mobile in the winter. Cool

Static shows for me although I've not had much of a chance the past couple of years.

Local club road runs and static shows, which we sometimes include as a group run out and back. Drive out on sunny days and generally cruise about enjoying the old girl.

Reading the above comments, I almost feel guilty about the way I use (and abuse) my 1970 Volvo Amazon.

Once or twice a week I take it to work, throughout the year unless I have some major work underway when it might get a few weeks rest.

Five or six classic car shows or runs each year, one or two of which involve 200 - 400 miles in a day!

Then there is the use when pulling my 1978 Safari 14ft caravan. Two or three classic caravan shows in the UK, two or three weekends away with my grandsons, usually at least 100 miles from home, and the big trip to the annual European Classic Caravan Rally. Last year a 2300 mile trip to Sweden, this year 700 miles around Belgium and Holland.

I probably shouldn't tempt fate, but since a bit of problem with the back brakes two years ago, the car has only needed oil changes and air in the tyres!

Off to Clacton this weekend and then Melton Mowbray next week.

Now it's back on the road, as much driving as possible! Static shows are really not for me, I can't see the point of owning a motor car and not motoring.

After 18 Riley-free months, since Thursday we've been to Norfolk and back, covering around 600 miles touring 'God's Own Country' with the Riley Motor Club.

We use all ours everday - I go to work in one or other and my wife uses them for shopping - we do have 7 classics but no moderns - newest car is 1973.

We also go to static shows on Sundays in Summer about 15 pa but so far this year we have only managed 4 as so many were cancelled.

One of our holidays is touring Ireland (sometimes Scotland or the lakes) every year usually in the P5B (the newest car)

...and yes they are not concours Very Happy
