Looks like another good venue.

Weather permitting I'll be at this one.

This turned up later in the day.

It got more attention than any of the other cars on show.
I recomended this site to him and he seemed very interested.

I seem to remeber he said all he had to do to get it through MOT was to get the trafficators to work again, apart from the obviouse service nothing else needed doing, and a wheel bearing.

I am copying the text from his fact sheet, make it easier to read.

Quote:

BARN FIND AWAKES AFTER 50 YEAR BREAK
Wolseley Hornet Saloon (1935)
6 cylinder 1378cc engine

This totally original Wolseley Hornet sallon has been off the road for half a century since the previous tax disc expired in 1962.

This car was first registered in Perthshire in 1935 and after a couple of ownership changs was acquired by an enthusiast who added it to his private collection of over 50 vehicles, it reamined in a dry barn untill the owner died in 2010 and was subsequently sold in one of Scotland's biggest ever auction sales of a single collection of vintage cars.
The purchaser was a trader from Kent, who, with light recommissioning, obtained a new MOT in 2011. The car was then sold on again to another enthusiastwho planned to restore it. However, after only a few month of
ownership, he died before a new registrationlog book could be obtained. After a purely chance conversation the owner's son, the car was purchased in July 2012. With minor repairs to the trafficatord and a new wheel bearing fitted, a fresh MOT was obtained and the car finally returned to the road.

Having covered only 35,000 miles from new, everything including the original paintwork, carpet set, seats, pedal rubbers, rear blind etc. are just as they were 50 years ago!

Owner:G Storey.

I like the Wolseley owner's spirit Cool hope he joins in here one day.

The local scarecrow competition this year featured one posed alongside a Thames 400E van, wish I'd photographed it now Confused

Great pics as usual Roger, looks like you had a good day mate. Jon and I enjoyed Battlesbridge too, a huge turnout this year.

The EC guys were missing you mate. They've even posted a 'Where's Roger' thread on there!! Maybe just check in and let them know you're ok fella!?

See you soon, Dave

Hi Dave
Just having a break from the club Scene at the moment.

The Furneux show is a must mate, so informal, and as I said the reception and hospitality was so good it seemed more like a big family gathering.

I thought Tiptree, and some of the local villages, was small,
Furneux covers about a mile and a half, not many houses and I get the impression every body knows every body, I reckon you could walk the loop in about half an hour. and so pretty.

A lot of the entrants have been going since the festival started.

Rick
The Wolesley owner was of the opinion that the car gets so much positive reactions he's tempted to keep it as is.

He has the 'W' light for the radiator emblem but it has a corner missing, said he was going to try some resin to repair rather than fit a new one.

Has the same opinion as some on here, it's only original once.
