This is a great clip showing a trip by road from London to Bath filmed in 1963 from the seat of what looks like a MKII Jag. Really nostalgic looking at so many classics passing by. Hope this works as I'm not very good at this sort of thing!

Oh to have roads as empty as that!

This is a great film, been a favourite of mine for a while now. What we've lost, eh? No nasty clutter of unnecessary road signs and markings, no silly ever changing speed limits, no cameras and best of all no pedestrianised town centres - anyone who's ever tried to drive through (now practically around) Chippenham in the last few years and watches this will know exactly what I mean.

I'm not saying that the motorways shouldn't have been built, the whole country would be stuffed without them - but the old roads should have been left as they were for us peasants to enjoy Smile

Great film. A and B roads were built for older cars because there was nothing else. Before the M6 was built it took ages to go to Blackpool going through Carlisle and Garstang but there is nothing better than going for a run at the weekend on the old roads with the marina. Cool

It IS a great piece of film, but isn't it the one where the so-called Advanced Motorist is flashing his lights & blowing his horn to get other cars out of the way? !!

Yes, it's that one - looks unnecessarily aggressive in places to me.

Well, he is driving a Jag - that means he owns the road, doesn't it?
