My mum went to primary school in Houghton-le-Spring and was in the same class as Bob Paisley who went on to become manager of Liverpool FC. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

I did my HGV driving lessons with Roger Daltry.
And before he became well known had a drinking buddy called Bob Hoskins.
Also in the same pub, but most avoided him, Ronald Frazer and a few others.
Served under Colonel Porteous VC. |

I'm not related to anyone famous that I know of, but once had lunch with Fred Dibner in a fish and chip shop and my mum used to babysit John Kettley (weatherman) when he was a child _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

Fortunately for me the late Robin Cook MP was a prefect at my school. One day I was making a nuisance of myself bouncing a basket ball again the prefects' shed wall. I got hauled in and beaten over the backside with a gym shoe. I say "fortunately" because Mr Cook took pity upon me and halted his more sadistic colleges.

I once stood near Samantha Fox at an opening ceremony. I fancied her mum like mad. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

There are two long convoluted family links. One to the man who married Peter Lawford's (actor) mother and the other to Henry David Thoreau, the American author.
Harvey Smith once re-arranged the tables and invited a couple of us to share his side of a restaurant, when rain water suddenly started to flood through the roof.
I bought the Mini Van previously owned by Arthur Rowe, 1960 Olympic weightlifter. ( he had scratched his name and the Olympic Rings on the centre hub of the steering wheel.
I stopped our vehicle on a street in Miami to allow Pamela Anderson to cross. Wearing a gold dress and gold high heels. (Pamela not me, it was a week day )
I shared a table at Toronto airport with John McEnroe. |
