I came across these pix which I took at the Stamford show in 2007 - thought they may be of interest as not much is known about this vehicle. It's a 1959 Trojan Boudica & capable of 100 mph even with trailer.
I did try at the time but was unable to find much info about Trojan making these but maybe it was a one off. No doubt someone will know, cheers,JD.
Just found a little info http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Trojan:_Cars although they look similar to my pix?? _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

Well they did make an artic but that appears to have a Perkins engine and I doubt if it was as big as 10 litres. A real mystery!
The owner's name is Terry Pine. It looks as if he is a commercial vehicle motor engineer in Boston, Lincs.
2764RE is listed as Trojan, 99999 cc, heavy oil, manufactured 6th Aug 1959, colour red.

Hi Peter, yes the artic had a Perkins engine & they also built a truck with a Perkins which was used by Perkins Engines in Peterborough themselves.
The engine in the Boudica looks like a Scania but has a Trojan plate on the inlet manifold. It looks like a Scania but not of '59 vintage so I wonder if it has had an engine change? You are correct re the owner who is (or was) a member of Boston Classic Car Club. He exhibited at the Stamford Show in 2007/8/9 but I never got to speak to him - he was always surrounded by lots of questioners. Cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

| This does not look like it was built by Trojan or anyone else in 1959 to me. Looks like a big diesel by the air filter the twin fuel filters and the double v crankshaft pulley, all put tgether on a 7.5 ton lorry chassis going by the deep dished wheels. Cargo or Roadrunner or something similar with the single leaf front springs?. Somebody must know and tell me I am wrong. I will go with the Scania engine could it be a v8 with the position of the manifold? Ken |

Hi Ken,
I think you are right. The guy is into commercial vehicles.
