No doubts about that one Rick.

They were poular over here too. So popular, in fact, that a few years ago, I was told quite emphatically that they were made by Volvo!!!!!

Since I only live about 2 miles from the John Deere factory I better say a John Deere Model B, but my personal favorite is the Ford 8N.

Mssey Frguson 35 or even 135 are collectable and are still used regulary by farms all over the country, they are also easy to get hold as ex scrapers etc.

I just mentioned this post to a local farmer. His vote was for a modern John Deere. The reason: He is handicapped!

Stuchamp, do you know anything about a ´50 Champion?

Hi Stuchamp,

Basically, anything and everything. My wife and I have found one in a field (!) that we can buy cheap. It needs a total restoration, including an interior, but seems pretty sound.

Maybe I could start a new thread on the Classic Car Forum, and we could start from there?

Works for me. I have plenty of info here on the Studebakers.
I've have owned 3 of them. '42 Champion, '47 Champion which is the same basic body as the 1950, and also a '64 Studebaker Challenger. Smile

Steam tractors have got to be in the running. Amazing engines that will last many times longer than a modern one, built with the future in mind!!

I've always had a sneaking desire to own a Cropmaster one day, no idea if they are good or not, but I like the look of 'em Laughing

Not sure I've seen any pics of steam tractors!

I was just the other side of Ipswich last week; spring had sprung and the birds were singing, glancing upwards, I just managed to catch sight of the 'lesser rustspotted ploughbird' building it's nest.
