There was a very good Somerset on ebay yesterday for a surprisingly low £1000 buy it now, needless to say it went immediately!
I'd quite like to buy a good Standard 10 myself and have been perusing the classic ads for the very same, I'm thinking of selling four of our cars to buy just one little Standard.
The Austin spares man seems to have fallen out with me as I no longer get a reply to my emails to him - all very strange
I also had high hopes of buying the Fordson van I enquired about too until Mrs-Nail announced that she had booked us a 'surprise' trip to Venice and Rome for later this year in addition to an already booked trip to Austria!
I like travel but I'd rather spend 2wks in the garage! |

Included in the four will be two moderns, my Passat estate and her Peugot 106.
The sad thing is that every time I come to sell something I remember it's strengths and change my mind!
P.S. the patio is now clear and has just been jet-washed! |

I'm due to post an update on the Somerset project in the next couple of days but until then I can confirm that I will be keeping it and progressing with the refurb' regardless, that way the car will be making some headway.
Tonight I will be listing the brand new Grille parts that I have for it on ebay, as I think they are too good to be put on what is after all a recommissioning rather than a restoration.
I'm not going for the 'factory fresh' look so a good second hand item will do for my purpose.
The strange guy from Scotland that supplied the parts steadfastly refused to answer any contact with him...all very weird! |
