Just picked this up on a Lotus forum.

The Excel and some Esprit have SD1 rear lights, just upside down.

According to Practical Classics Rimmer Bros have just bought a recently discovered warehouse full of Rover SD1 panels and parts that had originally been shipped out to India in the 80's as part of a (failed) plan to build them up from kits there with different engines.
Therefore I suspect a number of reasonably priced new SD1 parts have probably just become relatively available in the classic car world compared to the situation 6m ago.
