I was talking to model engineer in the pub yesterday, about attaching some "fake" self clinching studs. I was talking about spot welding them to a bracket, much to my surprise (given everything he makes is a precision belt and braces job) he suggested J B Weld (epoxy glue) for attaching non critical low load metal to metal
Anyone else used it?

I used it to repair a porous backplate on a Range Rover diff, the backplate is not the separate bolt on type and a complete new casing would have been required, so the JB Weld worked wonders _________________ ROVER

I used "JB Weld" as a "temporary" repair to a frost crack in my Austin Ten engine block. It's a common problem and the text-book solution is metal stitching.
The adhesive "creeps" noticeably and was tricky on a vertical surface. But it sets very smoothly and although I didn't paint it over, it's hard to tell it's there at first glance. I will report back in a few years to say if it's still working; I rather think it will be! |

| I heard JB Weld was good to an Astonishing PSI rating, anyone know what it is? |
