I took this photo off ebay, the car is currently listed there with a starting bid of £1495 Shocked
I'd like to poke around a little to reveal what else is hidden there!

arossco, so how good/bad is your Vauxhall, does it need much doing??

A pal of mine years ago had a new pair of wings and sills for an E Series, they went to an oldish chap who ran a Wyvern as his daily motor

Hi Rick

My car is needing a lot of welding done - the worst parts are the front chassis extensions to which the front suspension cross member is bolted and the rear spring hangers.
There are a number of holes in the floor, sills and door bottoms are needing repairs and the interior is in a bit of a state - I'm currently feeding the leather seats although maybe this is the 'cart before the horse' !
I've enrolled on a welding course at a local college, so I'll maybe tackle the easier stuff, but I'll need a professional to do the chassis !

On the plus side the car has only done 31000 miles so I think mechanically it's in reasonable nick, except I will need to renew the braking system. Also the inner and outer wings are ok. I've got the original valve radio and metal sun visor.

The colour is Sylvan Green with buttoned leather upholstery ( both only used in 1956 ) so I think this must be quite rare.
I am absolutely determined to get my Cresta back on the road, I just have no idea how long it's going to take !

Here's a link to my web site - hoping to update it soon - since then I've removed the doors, wings and stripped the interior and am currently wire brushing the underside Shocked

All the best
Ross
