Is someone trying to increase the rarity of their car by destroying all others?

That is an old joke....How do you double the price of a Lada? .... Fill the tank with petrol. Very Happy

I would not take what you read in Classic Car Weekly as gospel.

There is some truth about what happens but they seem to hype things up some what.

The magazine has turned into the "Sun" of the car magazine world.

If you believe their headlines.....

The Classic Car Show at the NEC is no more.
We will all have our classic cars dragged off our front drives by the local council.
Ethanol in petrol will seriously damage your classic car.
New Mot rules spells disaster for wedding and hire cars.
Every classic car owner working in their garage will die from fatal accidents.
Classic Car thefts soar at classic car events.

The list goes on....Ok a couple of windows were broken on the ford Consul Cassic, but look at the rest of the car...would you rush to buy it.?
I doubt that will push up any prices.

An MGB was stolen at a local show,if the Classic Car team heard about it the next thing you would read is ....Foreign syndicate targets British Classics to sell to China.

It's funny that you mention that. I don't often buy CCW, but lately I've come away with the same feeling regarding their "tabloiding" of the news somewhat.

As a member of the classic and capri facebook site, it seems the info given is correct, both of the mentioned cars had been on e bay for spares, also today another e bay spares car (consul capri) has been vandalised, along with some spares. Seems someone has a grudge against our cars. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which can be and has been proven. Standard fuel line last less than 12 months on an injected engine. The cure being to replace it with SAE J30 R9 or above spec hose, which IS Ethanol rated. The lowest suitable spec for non injected engines being SAE J30 R6. If it isn't printed on the hose, don't buy it.
