Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and have just bought a 1934 Morris 10/4. I am in the process of "fettling" the car and need info regarding ignition timing. 1.e. timing marks etc. Also the adv/retard lever under the bonnet was not fitted correctly.I have refitted it as I think it should be but if anyone has a photo of the s/column to distributor linkage, that would be useful. Finally anyone fitted an electronic points conversion? I'm sure there will be lots more questions, but that's it for now. Thanks for any help Ianh

Hi and welcome Very Happy

The forum seems to have be attracting a few pre war Morris owners recently Very Happy

If you go down the electronic ignition route, I'd fit a unit that retains the points; you get all the benefits that electronic ignition offers, with the advantage that if there is a problem you can switch back to conventional quickly.

I'd also add a bit of protection for the electronics, as the electro-mechanical regulation of the dynamo generates noise and voltage spikes that can put pay to electronic components. Shout if you need some help, its a simple cheap fix.
