...an old car back again??

I did it with the green 122S, bought from the long-term owners as a slightly faded runner, ran it for a while then sold it to a friend of mine. He crashed it, it changed hands again, was restored, and I bought it back and ran it for a while.

Buzzy's E83W has been bought maybe three or four times now since 1989.

I was sorely tempted to buy back my old Companion, but common sense prevailed with that one (I may yet weaken). I also came across my old 2.5 Spitfire not that long ago, but with a weedy 1.5 litre engine now in place of the 2.5 it'd never have been as much fun, so I passed on that one too.

About 10 years ago I bought back a marina TC for a lot less than I sold it for. In between it had 3 other owners but I didnt keep it long. Its not the same as owning it for the first time.

I've never seen any car I've sold again.
The one I'd like to have back was a Mk7 jag or maybe the three litre capri. I wonder where all my previous cars went,I only scrapped a couple.

Technically not my car but...
In about 1984 I saved a 1966 Triumph 2000 Mk1 from the scrapyard. Having no room for the car, living in a student flat, no tools etc, I sold it on to another student who's parents had a farm and room for the car.
In 2001 I was searching for such a car for my brother because he liked my Mk1 (which I bought a year before). I found the car I saved back in 1984 - it had been restored and then gradually had become a little worse. My brother bought that car, ran it for two years and now it is in our shed waiting for better days...
There are about 12 - 15 LHD Mk1 Saloons known surviving here, originally delivered to NL, so quite rare.

I would love like to buy back the Herald 1200 Saloon I owned 1987 - 1994, I know it is still on the road. Good memories with that car.

Yeah a 1600E Cortina. Purchased in the eighties as a project, spent a fortune on it till it was in 1st class nick then sold it to buy a Trams-Am. Always regretted selling it but then out of the blue heard the guy who had bought it off me wanted to get an interceptor to I sought him out and bought it back, this was after about four years and he had wrecked it Evil or Very Mad Alas it was not the same owning it second time, a lot of folk warned me against buying it back as they said I would regret it-and I did. Did the necessary work to it and sold it on again-don't think I would ever do it again........unless the Vanden Plas 1300 I used to own came along Wink

I suggested to the current owner of my Ginetta G15 that I'd be interested if he ever came to sell it, but I suspect I'd chicken out if it came to it.

Never, though recently the cooper I had owned for almost 5 years was for sale and I went to have a look but the price was exorbitant for me at least, so I passed that one on and as far as I know it still has not sold yet.

I'd be happy to buy most of my cars back but the only time it has ever happened was the Checker.

Imported it around '96 and used it for a couple of years before a sub-contractor to the BBC bought it to use in a chat show featuring Stuart Cable. Some time later a friend spotted it lying forlorn in a car park so i did the decent thing and bought it back. Now awaiting restoration on my 'round tuit' list but at least it is saved!
