Recent close inspection of tyres reveals replacements sooner not later. Strange existing tyre size which I understand are the old Taxicord jobbies.
Standard tyre suppliers cannot help with replacements so I've asked Vintagetyres if thier 600/16 Avon Tourist tyres will be OK. I just hope so as I definitely do not want to start wheel size changing.
How old the existing tyres must be lord knows, the sidewalls are really cracking and one tyre is marked 'remould' I knew when I purchased the van tyres would have to be replaced but did'nt anticipate the difficulty of tracking down those replacements. Still once there on should be OK for ten years.
No spare wheel is a further problem, a 16 inch four stud! |

16" tyres no problem; cheap way out is taxi remoulds @ £30 each. Search eBay for new 16" at not a lot more.
Crossplies still available but about £130 each.

When we picked up our Car cruiser, in the summer, we needed two new tyres for the old girl. We had to tow her 300 miles back home. Our local tyre dealer let us have a new pair of 16 inch tyres for £45.00 each including vat. Looks like that was a good price then ! _________________ I can resist anything except temptation !
