|
Hi about 2 months ago I bought a Series 1 2 door saloon that has not been on the road for 40 years. I am already well into the restoration.I recently came across this site and am trying out my first post along with some pics, fingers crossed.
I have followed the instructions about using photobucket but can't seem to download any pics, can anyone help,
Cheers
Bob
Back to the begining, these 3 pics were taken on day 1, finding and collecting the car:

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forum. Photobucket has changed just recently so this might be your problem. It used to be that when you looked at a group of photos in your album that each had the link information below it. Now you only see the photos and you need to click on one and bring up a larger image before is shows you the links. Having got the links just left click and "copy" the bottom one of the set and paste it where you want it in your forum post.
The bottom one includes img and /img parts before and after your address.
Looking forward to seeing your Morris,

Still can't get the hang of it but something is happening !!
These 2 show the body tub on way to be shot blasted, and one of the wings after it had bee cleaned but before repair.

The car is the original one lady owner with just 61000 miles, not used but dry stored since 1970.
I have completely stripped the car, and am just about to start the long job of putting it back together. I will post some more 'before' pics soon, then I hope to make regular posts with the progress.
The chassis has been repaired and new sill etc on the body tub. Amazingly things like the roof and doors are perfect as is the bonnet, but wings have needed repair and the running boards are the only bits of body that have been replaced completely.
More soon, just one more pic !

By the way, I live in Great Cornard, Suffolk, near the Essex border, is there anyone local to me that has an interest in pre-war Morris 8's?
Or does anyone know of any clubs in my area that organise events that I could take part in next year when Gwendolen (the Morris ) is back on the road.
Cheers

Richard, yes we have already been in touch through the Morris Register. Bob have you spotted my thread "The Long Road......" From the look of your photos you are going to be doing about the same as me. Do you have a photo of how the rear headliner bar fits to the woodwork? See you soon. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1
