lets see what happens...

yeah that seems to work, just remember to uncheck the option:

Disable HTML in this post

I'll see if I can make it default to being 'off'

cheers

un-tick disable html (done that)
click Img (done that)
paste URL (done that)
click Img again to close (done that)

but no image in the preview, so no confidence this will work

little confused now as to whether I disable HTML (as per your post above) or disable the disable HTML (un-tick the box, as I have been doing)

hehe

untick the box is what you need to do, as you've been doing

let me look at the general config options and see whats what

I can delete these test postings once we're sorted out

cheers

Hmmm maybe I can do it coz I'm an administrator, although I've gone through the general configuration options and I can't see why other users cannot incorporate images within their posts too. Especially as you have succeeded in posting links to URLs ok.

I'll set up a test (non-admin) account and try posting a pic using that

Ok here's my test using a bog-standard new userid..

Curiously that works too.

I'm a bit baffled now!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I notice that now, using this brand new login, the Disable HTML option now defaults to No Tick, whereas my admin one has a Tick in it.

Rick.

well, how weird is that!

as a logged in member, it won't work...but when I do it un-logged in, it works for me....

something else to note, when I was a guest, none of the boxes were ticked. Interesting. Crying or Very sad

an attempt to shake off the jinx by changing identity

(interestingly, none of the boxes are ticked)

and it seems to work.....I wonder if everyone else with an old identity will find they can't post images?

I'd feel bad if it working for me meant it wouldn't for everyone else, so feel free to change things back, Rick
