Hi Nic,
my body tub is at Alpheton with a guy called Robert who did some work on your car. I don't have any pics of the roof bar, but can remember how it went. I could come to have a look at yours or you can wait until I get my body back and come over for a coffee. My mobile is 07889247990 if you want to get in touch.
Cheers

Just downloaded 2 newer photos and deleted the original 4 from photobucket....I have now seen the result.
I will try to replace them or just reload some new ones.
This pic is some of the tin worm that has been cut out of the body, chassis and rear wings !!

Now that I have the chassis back things should pick up speed, the problem as you all know is remembering what goes where and finding the bits !!
The chassis has had 4 coats of hammerite, I already had the paint.

Today I fitted the front and rear springs and axles and hopefully tomorrow the engine and gearbox will be going back in.
So far so good, but I guess all the tricky bits are to come. |

Does anyone have any idea of what oils should go in the Armstrong schock absorbers, axle, and steering box?
Cheers

Thw weather has taken a turn for the worst and the garage is not so inviting at the moment, but I have now put the engine and gearbox back (with new mountings) along with the prop shaft. I have trial fitted the new s/s exhaust and fitted the brake pipes and petrol pipe.
I now need to fit the new seals to the brake cylinders and get the shoes relined. One of my Armstrong shockabsorbers (nearside front) was totally knackered. I have sent it off to a firm in Croydon (Vintage Shockabsorbers) and am waiting to see what they can do with it.
All in all I am pleased with the progress so far and have added another couple of pics.

So you did not bid for the DK4A dizzy cap on ebay. I did and I got it for £20 +p&p . Not bad as my last one was £105 its the side entry model. I have also made a 6v ignition amplifier ( + earth version to follow in january if any one is interested) that I will fit when I have regained the feeling in my fingers. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

Hi Nic,
I didn't see the dizzy sale. As you know you can keep on buying, I am still trying only to replace what actually needs replacing to keep the cost down !!
Know what you mean about the fingers !! |
