I've always had an interest in old aircraft, although I'm not sure I'd try and get a licence to fly one or not. Writing childrens' stories is something I dabbled at a long time ago, I keep saying I'll dust them down one day and have a go at doing some illustrations for them.
I like collecting old toys too, so if I ever have to move to a house without a garage, I'd probably end up collecting toys and, if I had the room, pedal cars
Housey DIY doesn't interest me remotely (ask erindoors ), nor does gardening.

o o o something else, how can i forget this one....
much the same as rick really, internet.
as a bit of fun me and my friend decided to have abit of fun and start up are own club. we were both into mini's and wanted to offer more. i was never good with computers but my firend was, what i was good at was getting things moving and dreaming up mad ideas and making them happen. so about 4-5 years ago we started up a classic mini owners club called The Mini Forum (www.TheMiniForum.co.uk). We currently to date have over 11,000 plus members and are the largest club around the UK. We won the club of the year for 2007 as voted by the readers of a mag called Mini mag. i have about 30 odd people working for us, club doctors as there called people who know everything there is to know about minis, online tech guides, PR people and even my own events team. ive stood down this year to work on my own cars but will be back in the hot seat of my club next year fingers crossed. if you have a look in the meets section in this site the run called BH2NRetro was thought up and built up by myself. but looking around the site i sort of understand that most of the cars wouldnt be too practical to go to the nurenburgering. being in mag's was a big thing to us back when we started but it seems that we dont even need to do anyting anymore to get in them, every month either one of our members are in the mags of our club its self. one of the reasons im stood down to become just a normal member of what we have created.
so thats my other main intrest.
im into my Tropical fish, have been doing that for about 13 years.
Supporting my wife with her dog training classes and enjoy spending alot of time hiking all over the lake district with my 2 mad boxer dogs, o and the wife.
I think thats its now..... will be quite again now |

I've spent much of my life maintaining (debatable) old houses and now hate this activity. Apart from old cars I'm into most other old technologies, especially those that existed prior to me.

Oh and a P.S. that has just occurred to me after reading Rick's post mentioning collecting.
BOOKS! I have at a conservative estimate over three thousand books on various subjects, I just can't seem to stop buying them.
Added to which are the old car brochures, and at a rough guess around six thousand old car and bike magazines!
I recently moved house into a new third floor apartment and had to carry the lot up three flights of stairs, then the allure of a garage with power has seen me move again two weeks ago to my present address! Yup, all back down again!
I hired a Transit Luton van with tail lift for the move and the entire first load consisted of boxes of books and magazines!
As I left the apartment having dismantled my bookshelves the floor was noticeably lower down the skirting board at that point than the rest of the room...Oops! |

My trucks aside, I love music & movies.
I've been playing in bands for nearly 25 years & I have a fairly large collection of DVDs.
I also collect banknotes.
The English ones don't stay in my pocket for very long, but all the foreign ones get added to my collection. I've never counted them, but I must have hundreds.
I also enjoy drawing, as you can tell from one of my other threads. _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!

I like books, still have crates of them in the attic from our move in 03. Wish we'd bought a larger house instead of the bungalow, but after five years of restoring it and building a large garage we'll have to stay now.
Recently started writing and finding it totally absorbing, joining various groups and trying (after a lifetime of writing reports and technical descriptions) to come to grips with dialogue. Wish I'd started creative writing years ago.

That's interesting Pigtin, I'm attempting to write something at the moment but haven't had any experience other than writing statements and business letters etc.
I don't know how long it will take or if it will be readable in the end but I do find it very enjoyable. |

Do boats count?
I'd probably be building and repairing boats as my Dad has been in the boat business for the last 40+ years.
This is my spring restoration project which will be towed by my '57 Chevy Wagon when completed.

It's a 1953 Mercury KG7 racing outboard with the Quicksilver lower unit.
Boat speed was around 60-65 mph. |

Single Malt Whisky or Curry - doesn't matter what order they're in. |

I think that sums up exactly what appeals to all of us.
I've worked out I've got so many old books, magazines, brochures, models, etc that if I got rid of them all I'd have an empty garage and enough money for a classic
