in the absence of a "driving section" hint hint I am asking it here
What do you guys listen to in your classic, what gives you the buzz.
I am expecting some funny stuff here too _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

The engine, rattles, squeaks, and clunks with increasing paranoia!
I don't have a radio in my old cars as a rule as I don't get on with the constant babble, I'd rather listen to my exhaust note! |

UJ when I used to ride Kawasaki two stroke triples in the '70's the exhaust note was intoxicating, on the later Kawasaki ninja's it was the induction noise that became addictive...and so it is for me, mechanical noise is much sweeter music than man made stuff for me.
However, I have been known to put on some 60's or Motown stuff when driving my modern! |

Looks as though we are in agreement then. In spite of the fact that I upgraded the radio in winter, I dont think that I've listened to it when driving. Only in the garage to make sure it works!
Before anyone asks WHY did I upgrade if I'm not going to listen to it, its because the radio now fitted is original. The modern one previously fitted looked so out of place. |

I have been known to sing the vocals on Shostakovitch's 13th, at least that's what it sounds like
Actually I haven't a radio in any of my classics, thought about putting one in the Sprite, but I wouldn't be able to hear it cos I don't wear my hearing aids when driving my classics... somehow it makes the engines sound sweeter. |

Seems almost unamimous here....
I usually don`t listen to any music in the classic either. I prefer the "laLUMP laLUMP laLUMP of the "Fireball II" 3/4 cam, the headers and "Cherry Bombs", LOL! _________________ "The only thing I`m sure of.....is that I`m not sure of anything!" |

I have quite a good radio in the Amazon, but I never remember to switch it on!
Like others, I prefer the sound of my sports exhaust! _________________ Brian

I'm just generally obsessed with the 1930s so my car music is generally 30s jazz.
Ben Pollack
Billie Holiday
Bix Beiderbecke
Duke Ellington
Jack Hilton
Jean Goldkette
King Oliver
Paul Whiteman
and quite a few more |

Nothing beats the sweet sound of V8 burbling along.
But if I am going to listen to anything on the CD player I paid good money to have installed, then it would be between the following artists:
Led Zeppelin
Camel
Joe Bonamassa
Santana
Mofro
Tommy Emmanuel
America
Roy Buchanan
Rock'n'Roll compilations would also feature heavily. _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!

I havent even answered my own post
In the DS I listen to Francoise Hardy, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavor
In the Gwagen Mercedes Deep purple, Foreigner, Queen, Thin Lizzy, pink Floyd.
The Jag S'Type alot of 60s stuff
I havent got to drive the Facel yet but it cries out a bit of American rock but also as it is a glorious V8 I am sure I will want to listen to it singing
I tend to drive what the car feels to me.
I havent decided whet the 2CV AK400 and the HY Van need yet but it will come. _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

I had trouble with the transporter the bloody man keeps letting me down, he has now promises me for Tuesday afternoon and I told him that's his last chance, I will hire a flat trailer and pick it up myself after that
Trudy is back to the UK on Tuesday morning for a week so she is not going to see it arrive (if it does) she is quite miffed
The engine is fantastic runs beautifully not even a faulter BUT I think its got to come out as I need to weld under it
I am sure I will be testing your knowledge soon though one way or another _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com
