I had a heal spur a year or two back. It's like walking on a marble.
My GP was pretty useless but I spoke to a few other people who'd had the same problem and the only ones that had found a cure had got shoe inserts.
I know this seems improbable but the insert just cants your heel over to one side slightly. I was astonished but it actually works. You need to go to your local physiotherapy dept and they will get the inserts made to measure for you.
