| I suppose the Old-Nail could be tempted away from those dark satanic mills for a while. |

Anybody any ideas as to when and where such a meet could take place?
I know BrianM has suggested a few, but are there any more? |

If we are to regional stuff the Tatton Park & Oulton park shows (not sure of the dates) but certainly H1 08, may be a venue.
I know our local pub would be happy to host a meet of some kind, they did a car show last year which was very good, the pubs about 10 mins from J16 M6 around 50 miles from both Manchester & Birmingham, I'm happy to explore that option?.
I guess its how far folk are willing to travel?

I think whatever was chosen it'd be best to tie in with an existing show, as already suggested. A few of us around here had a stand at Cholmondeley Castle in 2007, which was a good show. Equally, the get together that ukdave mentioned is civilised and low-key, located in the carpark of a country pub, easy to get to from the motorway, but with the forum members being spread around the country (and globe) picking any good location for everyone will be difficult.

UK Daves idea sounds good, just a low key affair at a pub.
Would there be local accomodation there, or close by, for people who have to travel?
J-R's suggestion of Stratford could be suitable, depending on when that is. That should be pretty central for most, should it not? Though I guess the drawback there is the fact that I can imagine its mostly US classics.
Of course, you could all have a mass run over here...Classic Car Week at Rättvik is really good, but it might tire most of you keeping up with scandinavians.... |

Hi
There is a travelodge for acomadation in nantwich, that isn't so far from the pub, and various bed and breakfasts locally, on farms etc.
I vote for the little pub by UK daves, they have mega comfy chairs in the snug area, I would however have to reserve on of them! hehe
Cheers

| In spite of the fact that I like the idea myself, I do think that it would be a little more fair to have any meet a little bit more southerly, just to stop it being a local meet. |

I guess we need to know , who is interested, where they live in and how far they will travel, then we we can figure out the location that fits the majority or at least come up with some options that could be presented to the forum? what do you think? I'm happy to collate that info.....

Well if you let me know the following; (either on this thread or by private message):
a) That you are interested.
b) The town you live in or 1st half of your postcode.
c) How far you would travel
I'll collate it all and then we can see what is going to be practical to arrange.

Hi
Well I will start things off;
You know where I live, and I definateley am interested, travel distances depend on when we are doing the meet and what Vehicle I am using, but if I am using the mini, Birmingham Area is about as far as I usually go, kind of draw a horizontal line through Birmingham accross the country.
I may be able to go further now, as I bought a Sat Nav yesterday!
Cheers
