Ah! that's how they do it then Greeney. I remember Old Nail's concerns being put to the tv bosses some time ago and they catagorically denied increasing the volume.
One thing is for sure though: the volume increases for the opening credits of most programmes; at least this allows one to reach for the off button if dozing. Saved me many-a-time from being thrown into a rage or having my brain further softened by a soap or reality programme. Shocked
