The "woke" brigade have really got their teeth into Jaguar. All this nonsense about electric cars is not something that has been driven by demand as is evident from poor sales but a diktat from our political masters; more akin to something we might have seen from the old USSR.
The same thing has happened in Luton recently but those responsible are in denial; claiming that it has nothing to do with the political demand for zero emissions in an unreasonable time scale. |

Electric is just one way forward, there are others out there that other manufacturers are developing.
My take on Jaguar is tbh that the brand lost its identity a long time ago, as many here on the thread have commented on. Long gone are the days of the stand out luxury sports car.
And no matter what 'branding' is used now, Jaguar simply isn't Jaguar of old and that the ethos of car design that the company championed over so many decades has gone. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

It looks bland like many concept cars seem to look, they rarely look similar to what ends up in production! I don't really understand why manufacturers create them.
....actually yes I do in this case, because its keeping people talking about Jaguar, and I'm convinced with this controversial approach is exactly what they set out to achieve.
Did I see it first in an episode of Thunderbirds? |

Hopefully it will get quietly dropped.
Ironically, it was JLR who stopped Suffolk Sports Cars from using the Jaguar name on their replicas ...when anyone with an ounce of common sense would have accepted it as a tribute! |

From the photo, is there some reason why Jagwarr have partnered with an old American manufacturer of trucks?
Does such a partnership reflect on the new nature of Jagwarrs, give the weight of all those PP3 batteries they need?
Indeed, are Jagwarr following where Bentley trod back in the late 1920's?

I doubt we shall ever see another Jaguar race car. I think when they bombed out of F1 that was it.
IT seems to me that the company have come to the realisation that their reputation is built on models that few of their remaining customers ever drove; or for that matter, can even remember. !
Having said that, the marketing people at Jaguar are reluctant to let bygones be bygones and have apparently seen similarities with design principles of the past. In a statement the Company said of their new car...
"This ethos can trace it's roots back to 1935 and is built on embracing unexpected and original thinking and a brand character that commands attention through fearless creativity"
Fine words indeed.
Utter cobblers.

If anyone likes it enough to fork out the sort of money they're talking of, then they must be taking too many drugs.
