What a fantastic bit of nostagia Exclamation Exclamation

I was back at Chapel St Leonards nr Skegness,as an eight year old. Very Happy

In the Bluebird Caravan.

Cycling through the different caravan sites on my trusty Triumph Cycle.

Even the tenting shown under proper canvas could not be beaten, you could smell the grass and the canvas.

Not forgetting the smell of the bacon as you walked back from the washroom. Sad Hang on the toilet blocks were not as grand as they are now, full of spiders, cobwebs and the smell of stale woodbines if I remember correctly. Exclamation

Roll on the spring and lets get out there Exclamation Exclamation

Happy Camping

The programme on coach trips was fascinating.....pure nostalgia. Very Happy

Would it not be great to own one of those. Exclamation Exclamation

The following programme on caravaning I have seen before, last year, but I thought they interviewed a couple in the garden of their home with two caravans,or am I wrong.
It seemed to be edited different especially the interview with Rob Carthew Question
The programme on tenting although not strictly vintage caravanning, was I am sure the start for many of us into caravanning and the vintage movement in general. Very Happy
All in all a good set of programmes for nostalgia buffs.

Gresham.

Don't forget all the programs are at the moment still being shown on I-player on the BBC

I watched Caravans: A British Love Affair first time around when it was shown last year so didn't watch the repeat showing this week - however have got a friend to copy onto DVD for me and awaiting the copy to arrive in the post

Regarding the comment about the interview with the couple in their back garden with two caravans (think these were Car Cruisers) that was shown earlier in the year on the BBC One Show. The subject being the heated debate about caravans or tents......the couple with the said Car Cruisers and then onto a couple in a 30 year plus blue tent
