I'm having a good sort out and found these pictures of a mobile display vehicle, they were found amongst the items being thrown away by a Peugeout dealers when they closed. I have no idea what model the van is but i'm guessing..being LHD it was rare in the UK and possibly here as a demo vehicle for the dealership..i have no idea what happened to the van and how succesful a mobile door handle display vehicle was at the time.

well it appears that JB started out in 1968, still in business, they have moved a few miles down the coast to Newhaven, but sadly I dont think this van will be under a tarp in their back yard. |

That model is the J7,replacing the D4B range.
Front wheel drive, hence the nice flat floor in the back.
As you can see from the rear photo, they had the typically French arrangement of two half"barn doors",with a hatch on top. |

Hi John, I have recently imported the earlier D4B model..... if you were still looking for a home for the pics and the company doesn't respond I would love them... or if you'd rather hang on to them that's great too of course!
Do you have any other Peugeot dealer items from that era?
Heres a pic of my van.
Thanks Steve

I was going to send a copy of each picture...I can do a few copies on photo paper if you want..PM me your address and I will do them asap..i'm flat out at the moment so it may take a while...I also have a few genuine sales brochures but i will be keeping them.
I have been reading your posts about your van..it looks fantastic and doesn't look like it will take much to get it back on the road! _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |
