Does anyone else remember the two brothers who ran this shop, and the bizarre collection of bikes for sale, all still brand new? I bought a Triumph Thunderbird from them, already several years old but still new, and remember the Dragonfly in the other showroom which was seven years old and still new. It was always the same - old stock they acquired from dealers who couldn't sell them. One of the brothers took a shine to me and took me down into the "vaults" as I liked to say, and there was - it seemd archaic to me at the time - a Velocette KTT still brand new all those years later!
I went past a few years back, and of course it has closed and gone, but at Stamshaw there was still a faded painted advert for the Osborne Engineering Company, but the next time I went past with a camera it had been painted out. this was only about seven years back too. |

| Damned if I can remember. I come from Meyrick Road Stamshaw (off Twyford Avenue) and all I remember was that it was a double fronted place giving on to two roads. One side was the showroom and the other the spares and stores, but still even there one could see new old stock bikes. I remember buying bits for my Francis Barnett Cruiser 84, my T100, my DBD34 (which I sold for £40 - bugger!) and then buying the Thunderbird from them for commuting to Southampton. |

| Me neither. I knew most dealers in Southsea and Portsmouth, being a car mad teenager, but that name means nothing at all. My only recollection of Jaguar/Daimler is Wadhams. Since it is a pre-war car could the place have been bombed during WW2 and not existed after? |
