Hiya all,
Ive just got my 1961 ford classic back on the road (ljc 911), because the car didnt have historic status I had to pay for 6 months road tax. So I need to to change the taxation class to historic and claim back a refund, is the dvla form V70 the correct one. ???????????????

Can't remember the form offhand, I did my last one (possibly the green E83w pickup) at the local DVLA offices, and I think they sent the logbook off to Swansea straightaway.

Rick's right here. I'd just go to the local DVLA office in your area and sort it out. Saves all the hassle of paperwork etc., and they'll get you a new V5 from Swansea showing the right details.

Local DVLA office is the best bet.
Face to face.
My local office, Chelmsford were very helpfull when I had to change details on the old V5.
Walked out with a tax disc and about a week later new V5, with correct details arrived in the post.

Yep I had to do this, also at Chelmsford, with my A35. I took the V5, MOT and insurance to the local office, took a ticket and waited. After about 5 minutes I was called to a booth where I explained what I wanted and was given a form to fill out, I then gave him the completed form and other paperwork and he printed out a new tax disc there and then, the V5 they kept and a new one came through the post not long later. I have to admit, I was expecting lots of hassle, but it was really quite easy.
