Having been looking for one of these for a while, and checking Ebay, internet advert sites, local and national magazines and vehicle auctions. Sad
I was passing by the house of a chap I know and popped in to say hello, having a coffee in his kitchen I mentioned that having owned a Morris Traveller for a while I was on the lookout for a Morris van. Rolling Eyes
"Got one in my garage he quipped" lets go and look at it said I. Rolling Eyes
He had owned it for six years and purchased it from a neighbour across the road from him who had owned it for years. Surprised
I hasten to add this Moggie Van is about 500yds from my house and I never knew it was there. Surprised
After giving the van a good look over
I ended up purchasing it from him. Very Happy
It has a stack of history with it. Very Happy
I am now the owner of a nice commercial project.......and it is a good one to boot. Exclamation Exclamation
Regards
Gresham

I was so happy to have found it in the condition it is in . Very Happy
I did not notice the badge at the front. Shocked
What is the difference between an Austin Van and a Morris minor van. Question

Kind Regards
Gresham.

As far as I know, exactly the same apart from the badge! BMC badged a few late Minor vans as Austins so they could be sold in Austin dealerships Smile

Has anyone got a front grill for one of these vans. Very Happy
The crinkle metal one.
Also any other Morris parts would help me out.
At present I have the straight grill fitted to Morris vans and cars.

Great find!...you don't see many of those for sale at all so I bet you couldn't believe it when your friend said he had one in the garage! Shocked
Looks fairly solid and complete which is a good start.
good luck with it and I look forward to seeing your progress, when done it will be a lovely vehicle to have...plus still practical.
keep on 'Austineering' Very Happy

All the best,
Greg

PS. What year is it, 1969/ 70 ?

Early Marina vans were Austin badged. What do you need for your van. Do you plan any upgrades....Let me know..............Larry.

My old man drove these vans for many ,many years. The company that he worked for where so tight that they only bought them in primer ! The last ride I had in it, in the back, was to Brum. railway station. I got the train to Southampton and the boat back to Sydney. No regrets ! He always carried an oil can with light oil in it. If the engine started to play up he would put some oil in the carby. They worked on a vacuum system, after I have posted this I will remember the name of the carby......

The van is a 1969.
I managed to find the proper grill for this Austin van locally,a chap had one on his Morris saloon by mistake and removed it. Very Happy
The van runs and drives now. Very Happy
I just have to make a start on the bodywork repairs (not a lot) and respray.
As you say these are practical and fun little vehicles.
I spoke to the owner who had the van in the 80`s and 90`s he informed me he got a speeding ticket for doing 75 miles an hour in this van. Exclamation Exclamation

He also gave me a whole file of invoices for work carried out on the vehicle up to the time it came off the road,it seems nearly everything was renewed whilst on the road, including bodywork welding and repairs. Very Happy
