Advise sought regarding the type/style of rear reflector that would have been first used on my Eccles 1929/30 caravan. Thank you. |

BT, there probably wouldn't have been any reflectors at all, and only one very small tail-light, if any! They weren't so H&S concious then. |

Photos of yours would be nice
A fuzzy shot of an Eccles with a barn door at the back that I have in a book, shows a square numberplate on the off side and a small warning triangle beside it. Can´t see any lights |

When did the triangular dot ones come in? I cant find anything anywhere that says, the ones with a series of circular reflectors in a triangle frame. _________________ Mick

Reflectors were not law until the early 60s. Hope this helps. _________________ ROVER

But they are now, so its nice to be able to have some that are at least looking the part. there are some new commercial reflectors that are large round type that look ok on a 30's caravan or one could make up a triangular dot reflector by using small cycle reflectors on a frame cut out of wood or thick aliminium. _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! Thank you all for the input, my caravan is fitted with modern lights and reflectors which are hinged and fold back underneath the van when its in display. Also it has the square number plate and a original divers helmet rear light just below the number plate. All in all sounds like I need not concern myself with a second reflector. I will post a couple of pictures of my van for those that have not yet seen it. |

If anyone wants them I have a pair of the triangle ones made of small circles. I got them for my Safari but they dont look right, not perfect but would clean up ok. _________________ Mick
