I am considering shipping my VW Kombi to the UK to sell. The kombi is worth far more in the UK than in Oz!
Has anybody imported a motor vehicle into the UK in recent times? If so, are there any suggestions/warnings/procedures etc that would help me? (or frighten me off!)
I have not contacted the British customs as yet. I want to find out if it is a feasable proposition before I start any official ball rolling!
Part of the attraction of doing this is to buy a particular car in the UK at the same time and then import it back to Oz. The car I have in mind is far cheaper in the UK than it is over here! Importing a car back into Oz is quite a performance! However, if geting the Kombi into the UK is not insurmountable, then I may give it a shot!

I bought an Australian Import VW Splitty from a guy in Lampeter in Wales (UK) in 2001.... I just tried to find him on google for you but no luck so far.
I know that he used to bring in 40 vans at a time!! Maybe he would let
you share a container ? Or perhaps it would be cheaper for you to
deal with it yourself?
Good Luck anyhoo |
