In the early 1960's there was a Issotta- Fraschini in a garage , on the main street in Borth, Wales. It was kept under sheets to keep the dust and sea spray off. The owner/mechanic of the garage, it was a working garage, was going to re-build it and put it on the road again when he re-tired . It was in good condition and would not have needed much work to put it back on the road.
So, does anybody know what happened to this car ? Info and photos would be good. Thanks.

This rings a bell with me. A long while back (probably 1980's) I'm sure an Isotta was unearthed from a Welsh garage and featured in the 'Discoveries' section of Classic & Sportscar.

If I think on, I'll have a rummage through my pile of old C&S and see if I can find it.

It's a good job that I have a good memory (only for things that interest me!). It was the December 84 edition.....

And from this article seems alive and well;

This is amazing. I have actually seen & touched this very car. I was asked by my wife many years ago what I would like for Christmas and I asked for the woodwork of my '47 Jaguar be restored. I searched around and someone gave me Ricky Llinares's name. He lived (maybe still does) outside Kirkby Lonsdale. When I took the woodwork down to him he was working on this car. As I recall the firewall was an alluminium casting. Would that be right?

Isotta were very big on aluminium castings, indeed the crankcase on the Tipo 8 was cast ali, so I would expect the firewall could easily have been the same

Thank you for all the info. and photos. The last time I saw this car was in 1964 - 1965, a few years ago. I could not remember the owners name , Bert Fielding, he was not a "local". He lived for many years in Borth but came from England. We used to go to Borth for Easter, Whit. etc. and camp in the dunes. I did have a caravan at Borth for 2 yrs. better than camping. We all came from the Stourbridge area and had some good times there....I think the first trip was with a mate of mine in a Singer Junior. Then I went in my Austin 7 Ruby, Jowett Bradford and the Morgan 3-wheeler at different times. I will pass on the info. to my older brother and a few other people that knew the car when it was in Borth.
