I found this old feeler gauge in the bottom of a toolbox many years ago and have always wondered what car / bike it was originally off. It consists of 2 feeler gauges protected by 2 thicker outside covers.

Here's the photo (sorry about the quality):

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

C is one of the outside covers and has the letters SR 30125 stamped on it
A has the wording " Valve Clearance Rear Cyls .006 & Front (Inlet)"
B has the wording "Valve Clearance Front Cyls .010 (Exhaust)"

which implies that exhaust was at the front of the engine, the inlets at the rear but with also an inlet at the front ?

any ideas .. JAP engine ?

Maybe for use on a Szekely Aircraft Engine SR3 3 cylinder radial.

Radial engines have a definitive front and the detail applied to these gauges have an aeronautical "feel"

Doesn't seem to make sense engineering wise, but a twin bank radial engine like the Wright Cyclone(?) might fit the layout description of the cylinders.
