We have a mpk grande caravan built in 1970 in denmark. It is made of

fiberglass and has all its orginal features. Do any members know anything

about these caravans or no of any others in the uk. If so we would be

interested in any information.

Hello!

We had a Grand, and the -V- model for a number of years. A 1968. The V model was the one without a toilet area. (Ammendment: the V had with and without)

Areas to watch:

- The roof is in one bit andit´s not bonded around the edges to the side walls, only screwed down to the wooden frame via the aluminium strip running around it. Unless you know it´s been done, get the strip off ande see how bad the join is. If possible fiberglass the -top- to the -sides- and then put the strip back. The tops have been known to -fly up- at the front when travelling.

- The flooris wooden. Look for rot, especially where the floor joins the walls. The one we had was really good and no rot but they are prone to this if they have been left outside in all weathers.

They are a very nice van and tow really well. They usually smaell a bit -plastic- when you first get them out for the season but a few days use and a good weathering sort that out. They were an expensive caravan when they were new. There is a club for the MKP (which means Mikael Pedersen - the owner/founder)

Good luck with it, they are well liked on the continent. How´s about a few pics of yours Wink

Thanks Alan for your reply. I have checked the two points you have

mentioned and floor and roof look ok.

We are going to give it a good clean at the weekend then will post some

photos then. I dont know how popular these caravans are but i do need

to sell, i will try on ebay. I looked on the MKP website and seem popular

in Denmark.

If you are new to ebay then here is a few tips/points to make, Why is the reserve a big secret? You have plenty of interested parties asking Qs etc and wanting to view but you insist the auction will run its course. you should sell to whoever comes up with the cash you require as the eventual winning bidder may just be a time waster and not follow up on the deal. Good luck with the sale Wink

I see that it is the model with the end kitchen and toilet. Ours had the kitchen over the axel and no lav. It looks complete apart from the horrendus (radio) stuffed in the locker at the back. I sold mine for 900 quid. Admitedly prices for vehicles are a lot higher in Sweden than UK but by the look of it I would think 500 to be fair. Having used this one with the end kitchen, I think they are nicer than the model we had. But ours slept 4 comfortably, this is a 2-3 berth only
